We are all familiar with the idea of musicians arguing/quarreling and/or keeping malice with themselves usually displayed on social media either to cause controversy and gain attention, or to bring the other person’s career down. This act is commonly referred to as “beef” or “beefing” as the case may be.
Sarkodie is commonly known as the rap God in Ghana and has self proclaimed and ascertained the title: KING SARK. He is common to the idea of beef. I therefore have put together 5 Reasons why musically beefing with Sarkodie is a bad idea.
1. He is profane.
Sarkodie does not mind saying ANYTHING in his rap lines. He is very blunt and basically just does not care.
2. Sarkodie has got the flows.
No wonder you can dance to almost all of his tracks. He will cook the beef in such a way that the person being beefed will even enjoy the serving.
3. He might ignore you (and you will look stupid)
One thing about beefing is that, you gotta be sure the befee (person you are beefing) is gonna answer you. If you end up painstakingly going to the studio, paying for a beat and studio session+ mastering to record a beef song and don’t get replied, im sorry, but that’s the greatest serving of all time.
4. He’s got the fan base
The Sarkoholics are no joke when it comes to supporting their KING SARK. Sarkodie is in the top 2 of the biggest artistes in Ghana. Even if you may have slightly lyrically won the beef war, the sarkoholics wont make it seem so, because they will go all the way in favour of their own spreading news that the battle has been won by Sarkodie. And their voices are sure gonna be louder than the opposing teams’.
5. It will get you nowhere.
Yes you will trend for a while, Yes some people might get to know you (especially if you are an underground artiste) but after all the beef has been eaten, what next. If you don’t have a long term plan and an already very supportive previously existing fan base, you will die off in the long run. Because every follow-up track will be considered wack by the sarkoholicks and lower your rating more and more till you probably commit suicide or something…lol
Seriously tho… just don’t beef Sarkodie, you just might not like the outcome.
